Uwem Ukpong is Chief Global Operations and Integration Officer of Baker Hughes, a GE Company. Ukpong is an industry veteran with oil industry experience spanning four continents, and previously held technical roles as a petrophysicist and reservoir engineer. Formerly the Vice President of Baker Hughes Integration at GE Oil & Gas, Uwem has led integration planning and previously oversaw all product lines, systems and global operations of the GE Oil & Gas Surface business unit.

Ukpong started his career in Nigeria as a petrophysicist with Schlumberger in 1993, where he held several executive roles including Human Resources Director for Schlumberger Corporate; Vice President and Regional Manager of Software Integrated Solutions in Latin America; and General Manager of Schlumberger Oilfield Services in Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Ghana. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science and a Master’s degree in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
