StimPlus Service

StimPlus Service

Enhance production, reduce cost with optimized frac and chemical protection

  • The BHGE StimPlus™ service combines hydraulic fracturing and production chemistry to maximize post-frac production and minimize post-frac intervention cost related to scale, organic deposition, bacteria, and corrosion.

This field-proven, life-of-well program eliminates a short-lived chemical squeeze or an expensive well remediation. By adding StimPlus chemical inhibitors during the frac job, organic and inorganic deposition is minimized, improving well economics. Our chemicals inhibit scale, paraffin, asphaltenes, and salt, in addition to controlling bacteria and corrosion. This results in reduced NPT.

Maintain the post-frac production level with our turnkey, single-source solution, including registered biocides; frac-treatment water-source prescreening; optimized, on-the-fly treatment schedules; and reservoir and well asset monitoring. We’re the only company with fracturing services and production chemicals under one roof.

Gulf of Mexico operator eliminates production problems

An operator was concerned about asphaltenes during an upcoming sand control completion. The well at 11,100 ft [3,383 m] was surrounded by offsets plagued by asphaltene deposition.

We recommended the Baker Hughes AsphaltSorb™ solid inhibitor, which is placed in the formation through a fracture, frac pack, a gravel pack, or a prepacked screen system. Our engineers estimated the inhibitor—part of the StimPlus service product line—would actively treat the produced crude for at least 200 days, the operator’s goal.

After more than 200 days and 500,000 bbl of produced oil, well samples showed a measurable amount of asphaltenes, which meant the asphaltenes were kept in solution and did not deposit downhole. The Sorb inhibitor prevented a production problem or flow rate reduction.
