LinEXX Liner Extension
Maximize hole size while eliminating NPT
When you need to isolate troublesome drilling zones without causing nonproductive time (NPT), the 9⅝-in. linEXX™ monobore expandable liner extension is the ideal system for the job. It maintains the same pass-through ID as the previous casing/liner and can also be included in the initial well design to maximize the hole size to the reservoir.
A recessed shoe is run on the conventional 9⅝-in. casing. This shoe and the next hole section are drilled out conventionally to the next casing point or until a drilling problem is encountered. The linEXX system is then deployed and expanded on a single trip, with no change to the hole’s geometries, thus allowing conventional bit and tubular sizes for the next hole section to control drilling costs.
Unlike other expandable liner systems, our top-down expansion technology allows full well control while running and expanding the liner. It also provides backup tool redundancy and allows conventional cementing processes post-expansion. If there are ever any unplanned events during the expansion process—such as those that are weather or equipment related—you can abandon work without a loss.
