An operator contacted Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE) to mill out 49 composite plugs set inside 5 ½-in. casing in a 9,000 ft (2743 m) lateral section.
The customer’s challenge for BHGE was to develop a plan to mill all the plugs in one run while eliminating short trips altogether. If no short trips could be achieved then signficicant operational costs related to coiled tubing footage charges and fluid system additives could be avoided. Thru-tubing-short-trips-saves-25K-OK.pdf
