A customer in the Middle East needed to install a 4,380-m (14,367-ft) liner in a well with a 2,359-m (7,740-ft), 8⅜-in. openhole section, and was concerned about reaching total depth (TD). In addition to the well presenting boreholestability issues and stuck pipe risks, the liner top had to be set at a relatively shallow depth, limiting the potential slack-off weight needed to set the packer.
