After more than 80 years of industry-leading performance, BHGE’s API618 compressors are renowned for low pulsation and vibration — which translates directly to exceptional efficiency, smooth operation, low maintenance and low power consumption. They are used across a wide range of refinery, petrochemical and natural gas applications — including LDPE, hydrocracking, ammonia, refrigeration, re-injection and gas lift. Ten proven and highly efficient frame designs covering a power range of 100 kW to 41 MW and pressure capabilities up to 800 bar.
Our proven modular design allows for 1 to 10 cylinders on a single frame, with a cylinder size of up to 1,250 mm. Machines range from 100 kW to 41 MW, with pressure capabilities up to 800 bar. There are 10 models to choose from with designs and materials optimized for each application. Our HE-S frame, for example, was designed for pipeline applications and can run at 800 RPM with direct engine coupling. We also have a fully balanced crank mechanism specifically for offshore applications.
No matter what the application or unique site challenges, we can supply a fully integrated solution including motor, vessels, piping, supports and control panel.
The most valuable API618 service we provide is the unique in-house ability to perform plant-wide acoustic and dynamic piping analyses. Our simulations cover pulsations and interactions between all elements of the operation — including compressor, vessels and all interconnecting piping.
We’ve provided this service since 1965, helping customers around the world increase the reliability of individual machines and, more importantly, the efficiency and productivity of the overall plant.
We provide a user-friendly Online Configurator to help end users and EPC contractors easily identify the compressors that best fit their needs — from brownfield projects with tight footprint limitations to new plants with large capacity requirements.
The simple interface enables data input of exact plant requirements — including capacity, suction and discharge pressures, multiple stage suction temperatures, cylinder lube status, speed and motor type, and a list of specific gas components with associated percentages.
Manipulating any one data point will automatically and instantly determine the effects on all other system values. This is a very fast and highly practical way, for example, to evaluate various alternatives in terms of plant layout, footprint and absorbed power, which is a primary consideration for minimizing OPEX.
